The places of meetings

This project is about ‘The international meetings of photography’ in Arles from 2018 onwards.

It’s the town itself, its buildings, its open spaces, its hidden corners, its shadows and, eventually, the southern France summer light...

It is about the sites where photographies are exposed, dwelling silently with time.

It’s the darkness of the rooms, the whiteness of corridors, the artificial lights. The rust and the dust.

It's about stairways, windows on the street and whatever people left idly around. Peeling walls and scraped off wooden doors. Cracks, leaks, holes and gaps.

It’s about the perpetual work of time on matter. History and its sudden omission.

It’s the ephemeral passage of pictures in town, discreet and respectful of the sacred popularity of the place.

- This photography project documents the spaces and atmosphere of the Rencontres d'Arles, an internationally recognized photography festival in southern France. Through architectural details and urban landscapes, the work explores exhibition spaces, memory, and the transformation of places over time. The project focuses on light, texture, and the relationship between photography, history, and environment.
