"During the performing action something happens that cannot be described and defined according to fixed canons or categories. It is, in fact, something that is impalpable but that makes us feel as art should make us feel.
It no longer makes sense to talk about social theatre, because for us all theatre is social as well as political. The body is political if it expresses itself by carrying with it its own poetics, the need to express itself outside of prejudices and stereotypes. And this is only possible in an environment where one can work without judgement."

Martina Palmieri, director

From 2023 to 2024 I followed the project of Gruppo Elettrogeno and I Fiori blu inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses. I took the stage photos of Inclinazioni, Lumi and CreaturƏ together with those of the general rehearsals which I invite you to go and watch by following the various dedicated buttons.
For the third and last performance in studio form, CreaturƏ, the director Martina PALMIERI invited me and others artists to take an active part in the show.
On this occasion, I proposed a photographic project born from observing the work of the performers I have been following since 2018 during rehearsals and ateliers as well as performances. I noticed how the practice of theatre had produced subtle but profound transformations in those who had approached it consistently and seriously.
Under Martina's artistic direction, I took numerous shots of the performers crossed by the myth they would embody on stage, in their city, domestic and/or professional environment to get even closer to that inner and sensitive movement that I understood as the irruption of theatre into everyday life.
Some of these images were exhibited at the TPO in conjunction with the performance on 15 December 2024 and others were projected during the performance. I choose to propose a large part of the photographic material produced over these two years in an attempt to respect the narrative of each performance and to bear witness to a work, that of Gruppo Elettrogeno, which is rich, multifaceted, and the bearer of human and collective values that I now consider necessary for social transformation. In addition, the number and variety of participants, the complexity of the thematic reflections carried out over the two years, the evolution of the performers and the development of the dramaturgical content also required a truthful look at the quantity of the work carried out, which in this case is in no way opposed to the notion of quality. Creating performances of this magnitude, attended by performers from different disciplines, requires an enormous amount of coordination and direction work, which nevertheless produced an exciting result. It was a rich and enthralling experience during which human encounters and artistic explorations came about spontaneously, almost magically, and which I hope will continue.
