How theatre breaks into everyday life
The Blue Flowers festival 7th edition 2023/2024
by Gruppo Elettrogeno
curated by I Fiori Blu Art Factory
Photographic project by Barbara GUSSONI
I have known Gruppo Elettrogeno and I Fiori Blu for several years. I photograph them regularly during rehearsals, performances and workshops. Over time I have noticed, in small, apparently negligible details, an imperceptible transformation in their way of being, both inside and outside the scenic/dramaturgical context.
The theatrical practice unexpectedly manifests itself in the performers' everyday life, reveals what is still unknown to them, gives shape and voice to the singularity of each, not only through clothes and props but, more subtly, through looks, gestures, postures, new ways of reinventing themselves and desiring. I understood this slow and profound transformation as an irruption of theatrical knowing how to be and theatrical knowing how to do in the way one relates to oneself and to the world around.
Allowing this irruption to take place implies a quality that characterises all those who inhabit this eclectic artistic community: audacity.
From the curiosity to observe this transformation more closely came the proposal to collaborate with Martina PALMIERI, director of Gruppo Elettrogeno.
Together we created the shots, introducing the photographic gaze into the dramaturgical movement inspired by Ovid's The Metamorphoses.
The exhibition is an integral part of the performance in studio form, Creaturs, which closes the trilogy inspired by the epic poem and is premiered at Tpo.
